By Anonymous

Myrtle Beach, SC July 10, 2004 -- Centex Homes Myrtle Beach Division is awarding a golf villa to the winner of a special contest at the 2004 DuPont World Amateur Golf Tournament, the world's largest single-site golf tournament. The villa is located at Barefoot Resort & Golf in North Myrtle Beach, S. C. and is valued at approximately $125,000. The tournament will be held Aug. 30 through Sept. 3 along the Grand Strand of South Carolina.

The winner of the "Centex Homes Barefoot Villa Quest" will receive a two-bedroom, two-bathroom 1,050-square-foot unfurnished golf villa at Barefoot Resort. The resort is home to four championship golf courses and numerous other amenities including a private oceanfront Beach Cabana, swimming pools, and golf memberships. Centex Homes is the primary developer at Barefoot Resort.

The Centex Homes golf villa that is at the core of the Centex Homes Barefoot Villa Quest is the largest prize ever awarded in the 21-year history of the World Amateur tournament. The villa winner will be determined during a two-part skills contest during the World Amateur tournament. In the tournament's second round, scheduled to be played Aug. 31, each flight will have a closest-to-the-pin contest. The winner of each closest-to-the-pin contest will advance to a putting competition that will be held during the evening of Sept. 1 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Each contestant will have one chance to sink a 25-foot putt. Four players who sink the putt (or are closest to the hole) will advance to the finals of the "Centex Homes Barefoot Villa Quest" on Sept. 2.

In the final putt-off on the evening of Sept. 2, the four contestants will have one chance each to sink a 10-foot putt; the winner will be whoever sinks the putt or is closest to the hole. In case of a tie, players will repeat the putt from 10 feet until a single winner emerges.
